Thanksgiving 2010

So I'm a little behind with blogging, so I'm trying to catch up! Warning...picture overload for this post!

Jarred, Ryleigh and I went to our most favorite place for the week of Thanksgiving...Destin, FL! Jarred and I had not been since our honeymoon 7 years ago! It was so nice to get away for the week to stay in a house ON the beach with perfect weather and few people. We went with Jarred's parents, sister and grandmother. We left Shreveport Friday night, November 19th then drove to Bastrop to pick up MeMaw. We left Bastrop about1:00am after a very brief nap (Ryleigh was too excited to sleep) and then drove through the night to get to Destin Saturday morning. We drove over the bay bridge right at 9:00am, checked in and found our house for the week. The house was perfect! Jarred, Ryleigh and I had the first floor, MeMaw had the second, and Rance, Elissa and Kadyn had the third. We stayed busy throughout the week as we wanted Ryleigh to see and do a lot of things. We wished we would have had more time just to relax on the beach! I took over 600 pictures, so I will try to upload the "most" important ones! :)

Ryleigh did VERY good on the way down during the night...she only woke up when we stopped for coffee/gas.

Halloween

We had a busy day on Sunday for Halloween! We first went to Broadmoor's Fall Fest in the forest for about an hour. Most of the games and jumpy's were for older kids, but Ryleigh did pluck a duck and got 3 pieces of candy! She saw a few of her friends. We then went to Jarred's parents to let Ryleigh trick-or-treat at their house and one of their neighbor's houses. Ryleigh even saw "Jarred's other brother Darryl" who came out of the basement for Halloween. :) After visiting with Jarred's family, we headed over to my parents "city" house. (My parents moved to Shreveport last month and live not too far from us! But they frequent Ruston on the weekends!) Ryleigh trick-or-treated at my parents house and around their neighborhood amongst the tons of other kids! She really had a good time and surprised me that she was not shy about going up to houses. She would never say anything, but enjoyed getting the candy and goodies! :) Finally, we ended up in our neighborhood and only went to a couple of houses around ours. We were tired from the busy day!
Ryleigh was (of course) Minnie Mouse for Halloween and looked so cute in her costume and Minnie ears. All of the little kids that saw her kept saying, "there's Minnie Mouse"!

Roll'n into Fayetteville

Jarred turned the big 3-0 last Wednesday and as one of his birthday presents from his parents, we went to the Bama @ Arkansas game in Fayetteville on Saturday. Ryleigh went back with my dad Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with MiMi and Papaw. Jarred and I had a date night for his birthday dinner at Longhorn. Saturday morning we woke up at 5:45am(!), left the house at about 6:30, picked up Rance, Elissa and Kadyn, got some McDonalds breakfast and were out of Shreveport by 7:00. We arrived in Fayetteville at about 1:00. The game started at 2:30. We were amongst some Bama fans, so that was nice. (but the hog calling was still annoying!) Bama didn't play well for most of the game, but they played well when it counted...the end! We were glad they pulled out the "W" and it was an exciting game. We grabbed some fast food and got on the road after 8...arriving back in Shreveport after 2:00am! It was a long, tiring day, but it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed celebrating Jarred's birthday! :)

Ryleigh's 2nd Birthday - Part 1

It is hard to believe that our little girl turned 2 on Sunday!! We had Ryleigh's birthday party at Gymboree Play & Music from 10:00am-11:30am on Saturday. Ryleigh and 8 of her friends had a great time! It was nice to not have to worry with cleaning up before and after the party! :)
We were just glad that Jarred was able to join us...Friday he worked his regular work day, but had a situation with a juvenile that he had to work around the clock for. He ended up getting home at 7:30am Saturday after waking up at 5:30am Friday and not having any sleep! He was a trooper though and didn't complain one bit nor acted tired although we know he was!

Play Date

We had our friends, the Martino's, over last weekend for some grilling out and to let the girls play. We enjoyed visiting, eating some good food and, as always, laughing at the kids!

Lately

We've been enjoying the summer, spending most of our weekends at the pool! I got a new camera, so I've been trying to learn more about it and take more pictures. Here a some pictures from the last few weeks.

Ryleigh's New Ride

Our nice neighbors gave Ryleigh this new ride. She loves her "Jeep" and can press the pedal quite well. She hasn't mastered turning just yet! :)

More Summer Fun!

Books, Books and More Books

Ryleigh LOVES books! I must have read Goodnight Moon about 6 times in a row the other night. She loves Jarred to read her the same ones every night. And it's amazing that she can pick out those 3 books out of the billions she has! She always grabs her Mickey book, The Spooky Old Tree and Oh the Thinks You Can Think. One page in The Spooky Old Tree, a crocodile jumps up and takes a bite out of the stairs. Jarred taught Ryleigh to make sounds to go along with this page...
