Christmas in Roseland

Jarred's family and us have an annual tradition of going to Christmas in Roseland. It was pretty cool out this year, but Ryleigh did good. We all had a good time enjoying the lights and especially Cracker Barrel afterwards! :)

Catching Up!

I guess it's about time I updated the blog! We've been busy and will be even more busy this week! I am on vacation this week, so I'm going to enjoy my time off with Ryleigh. Jarred is off Wednesday and will be off several days with us too!

Just to update - Ryleigh had her 15-mo appointment last week. She weighed 25 pounds and was in the 75th percentile for her height and weight. Her head size was in the 97th percentile. So a good report from the dr. She didn't like the nurse nor the shots she gave her! Ryleigh started to cry right when the nurse walked in! Thank goodness she does not have to go back until she's 2!
Ryleigh is getting more and more teeth! She has her front 4 on the top and 2 front ones on the bottom. She also has a molar on her top left and a molar coming in on the top right and bottom left! So we've been drooling with these 2 molar teeth coming in!
Ryleigh is starting to say some more words. She knows where her cups are for her juice and milk. She will go to the cabinet, get one of her cups and say "juice". It's really cute and of course I give her juice every time she does it! :)

Happy Halloween!

Ryleigh and I ventured over to Ruston today to visit my folks for a quick trip since Bama did not play this weekend and my Mom's birthday was last week. We left Jarred at home for a quiet bachelor night. Ryleigh was obviously an Alabama cheerleader although she didn't do much trick-or-treating. I had been wanting to take Ryleigh to the pumpkin patch in Shreveport, but we never made it. Luckily the only pumpkin patch in Ruston still had a few pumpkins out. Ryleigh had a blast!

Reading Books with Daddy

Ryleigh loves loves loves reading books. She even prefers them over her toys! She will bring a book and climb in our lap for us to read it to her.

Peter Cottontail

We've had a furry, friendly bunny rabbit in our backyard here recently. We caught him/her the other night when Jarred heard something in the backyard. Then I looked out the window this afternoon and saw our repeat visitor. I tried to get Ryleigh to look, which I think she saw it, as she was banging on the window which scared it off. But I did manage to get a couple of pictures of our bunny, IF you can see it.

Fun Times with Daddy

Jarred got off of work a little early this afternoon and had some giggle time with Ryleigh. He called me at work to let me hear how loud Ryleigh was laughing. We have never heard her laugh this loud before! The videos don't do it justice. (And don't ask me what she is wearing.)

Putting Our Blocks Up

One of Ryleigh's latest things is that she likes us to dump her blocks out on the floor for her to pick up and put back in the bucket.

We Love Books!

Ryleigh LOVES her books! Her favs are The 5 Little Monkeys, Peek a Boo Baby and 5 Little Ducklings...she will bring these to us over and over again for us to read to her. Jarred must have read her The 5 Little Monkeys about 7 times the other night!

Wild Hair

Ryleigh woke up the other morning with her hair looking like this! (And it pretty much stayed this way all day.)

12-mo Appointment

Ryleigh had her 12-month dr's appointment today. She weighed 21 lbs 5 oz (50th percentile), 30 in tall (75th percentile), and her head was 18 3/4 in (95th percentile). As her Dr. said, tall and slim, just like girls want! :) We've been transitioning to whole milk since Sunday. It's been a work-in-progress, but I think we are there! Ryleigh had to have 4 shots...one in each arm and 2 in one leg. She didn't like them too much and cried even harder every time the girl stuck her, but she was fine once I picked her up. At least she got Bugs Bunny band aides! She goes back in one month for her follow-up flu shot, then will go back for yet another flu shot. Then, yet again at 15-months for more shots...she is NOT going to like the dr's office!

Little BAMA Girl

Although the first 2 games of the season we have had late evening games that she could not stay up for, Ryleigh loves cheering on the Tide! She hasn't got to use her "touchdown" signal much, but hopefully she'll get to use it at lot at tomorrow's early game. Ryleigh loves waving the streamers and throwing the football. We had to get her a couple of Bama outfits for her birthday as she only had a couple of things she could still fit into!

Ryleigh's New Car

Jarred and I got Ryleigh her first car for her birthday! It even has a horn that works...haha. Lately we've been having to cruise throughout the house with all this rain! But she likes it anyway!

First Birthday Already!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY RYLEIGH!!! Can you believe it has been a year already!? September 12, 2008 Ryleigh Emerson Cram was born at 11:51am and here we are one year later! I know I say this a lot, but this year has gone by sooo fast! I know it only gets worse, but can we slow it down just a little? :) Ryleigh has changed and grown up so fast that we find it hard to think back to when she was a little baby. Ryleigh officially started walking last week and loves to walk and follow us around the house.

We had a small party at our house today with just a few family members. She enjoyed herself, we had some good food and topped it off with more food and an Alabama "W"! Jarred's sister Kadyn made Ryleigh's cake and cupcakes...she did a fabulous job at that! Check out the pics for her creative work! (And if you need any cakes or cupcakes...Confections Ltd is her name) Ryleigh was quite dainty with her cake...she would pinch a little icing and take a bite, then any piece she dropped, she would pick them up. She didn't "dig in" like you normally think of kids and their first birthday cakes. Guess she didn't want to get her pretty birthday outfit messy. haha We all had a great time and day celebrating Ryleigh's day. And many, many more!

Our New Favorite Thing

Ryleigh has figured out how to turn the bathtub water on and off in our bathroom. She loves to walk in there and turn it on and off. Jarred's dad caught her on camera...

Steps, Steps and More Steps!

Things are about to get interesting around our house!! Ryleigh has been taking more and more steps the last few days. I think her seeing the other kids in her Mother's Day Out class walk around has gotten her ready to start walking! It's so cute to see her walk from one end of the room to the other, trying to keep her balance by putting her arms in the air. She's getting more and more stable...any day and she'll be officially walking!
We are ready for some college football this weekend...ROLL TIDE! Ryleigh's 1st birthday is NEXT Saturday! CRAZY!! Jarred and I were hoping to make it to the Alabama/Arkansas game this year as we are still crossing our fingers for tickets. August was a busy month and September doesn't look any better. Well, that is an update on everything that has been going on with our busy family!

This video makes me laugh...I have no idea what she is doing with her hands but it is sooo funny!

First Day for MDO

Ryleigh had her first day of Mother's Day Out on Tuesday. She did ok for her first day. It'll take some getting used to for her to get adjusted...esp with all the boys in her class! :)

Trip to Arkansas

Ryleigh had her first trip to Arkansas a few weekends ago. She did good on the 3 1/2 hour drive there and back. Sleeping in a different place in her pack and play didn't phase her. Ryleigh enjoyed seeing her Uncle Jonathan!

Week Off

I've had the week off to hang out with Ryleigh and do some things around the house. We've had fun as this has been the longest time I've spent with her since going back to work in November. I've enjoyed my week with her and hate to see it come to an end. Here are a few pics I took the other day.

Like Father, Like Daughter

Ryleigh takes after Jarred and snores every now and then. She doesn't snore as often as she used to, but it's cute when she does. (You have to listen closely to hear it.)

11 Months!

Ryleigh is 11 months old today! One more month before we're celebrating the big FIRST birthday! I'm on vacation next week, so in between hanging out with Ryleigh and getting things done around the house, I'll be getting everything ordered, planned and ready for her party!
