Smooth Moves

So I had gotten Ryleigh in her pajamas tonight and was trying to get her to wind down for bed while Jarred and I were watching American Idol. All of a sudden she breaks out in dance moves we've never seen before. It was hilarious and I'm glad she kept doing it so I could grab the camera. This child makes us laugh out loud! I don't know where she comes up with some of this stuff! :)

Retirement Party

Ryleigh and I went to Ruston a couple of weeks ago to celebrate with my family for my Dad's retirement from LA Tech after 26 years. Unfortunately Jarred could not come with us as he is now half way through the academy! We had a good time at the party seeing family and friends. Of course Ryleigh stole the show and ran up to my Dad right in the middle of his speech to everyone. I blame my Mom as she was watching Ryleigh while I was taking pictures! :-) It was cute though. Wish I would have recorded it. Here are some pictures from the party.

Snow Day #3

Saturday morning (the 13th) there was enough snow left in our yard for Ryleigh to get out and play in. There was even enough for her to make a snow man!

Snow Day #2

Friday morning we woke up to mounds and mounds of snow outside. It was SO pretty! Unfortunately I had to go to work and Jarred had to report to the academy a little late due to the weather. So we didn't get a whole lot of time to enjoy the snow. But we did manage to get a few pictures of the winter wonderland.

Snow Day #1

Thursday it started snowing in Shreveport...at our house at about 7:45am. Ryleigh was the one who actually pointed the snow out to me. As I was putting her jacket on her to walk out the door, she pointed towards outside noticing the snow falling to the ground. It snowed pretty much all day, so by the time we got home from work, there was some snow on the ground to play in!

Hiding Place

Ryleigh has found a new hiding place! I have no idea where she came up with this, but last night I find her taking all of her clothes out of the hamper and then climbing in the hamper. She really liked her hiding place and didn't like it too much when I wanted to put all the clothes back.

16 Months

Where is time going?! Ryleigh is growing up too fast! Can I just hit the pause button? She is in such a fun stage right now that we wish we could just relive these days. Every day she brings a smile to our face and makes us laugh. It just amazes me at the things she catches on to. Guess we don't realize that she is actually watching and taking in every little thing we do. Ryleigh loves to be the center of attention...she has to have someone looking at her that she can make laugh. If Jarred and I are having a conversation, she has to make some kind of noises or scream or something to get our attention to her...then she just smiles or laughs.
She is saying more words and really trying to talk more. She minds really well. If we ask her to do something to help us, she pretty much knows what we are asking of her and wants to help. It's really cute.
She knows where her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, cheeks, hair, head, fingers, toes and, her favorite, belly are. If we ask where her belly is, she lifts her shirt and points to her belly and grins. Then she tries to lift our shirt to look at our bellies. haha Something about belly and belly button that amuses her.
